GOD IS BUSY

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Child of God, when you look at your life, what do you see: blessings or burdens?

So often, when the going gets rough in our lives, we allow our carnal minds to get the best of us and give a lot of our time and energy to all that is wrong within and around us…the money we don’t have, the bills that are not paid, the children that are disobedient, the person or program that isn’t acting right or all the wrong that exists in society. Our focus becomes consumed by all that is negative and it begins to take a toll on our spiritual, mental and physical well-being. We become discouraged, angry and may even drift into depression. Inevitably, if anyone were to ask us how we are doing, we utter that all-tocommon saying, “The devil is busy”. Lift your head up, child of God, from the negativity. While your problems may seem great, God’s power is greater. When the going gets rough, don’t think that God is asleep. Just know that the Lord, your God, is busy working everything out for your good.

Throughout scripture, God reassures His people of His love and commitment to be with them and provide for them. God wants the best for you. You are the apple of His eye. If you don’t believe He loves and cares for you, just read John 3:16. For those who have committed their souls and their lives to him in obedience to the gospel, He has committed His presence and power to you until the end of time. As long as you trust and obey the Lord, remain faithful to Him and don’t turn back or away from Him, you will win. Everything is going to be alright.

Right now, start giving more of your focus, time, energy and praise to the good that God has done and is doing in your life. While the working of God is not always visible to you, at some point, what God is busy doing behind the scenes will manifest itself in your life. You just need to keep walking by faith and not by sight. Do what you can about the problems in your life and leave the rest in God’s hands. Stop talking so much about the burdens in your life and begin speaking about the blessings…what God is doing. If you are alive, have obeyed the gospel and are in fellowship with God, guess what??? You are blessed!

Child of God, yes the devil is on his job but, you need to know (and never forget) that God is on His job too. So, the next time they ask you how you are doing, instead of focusing on the devil, focus on God and tell them, “God is busy”.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: Starting today, search the scriptures and, each day, find one promise that God has made to those who trust and obey Him. Write that promise down on an index card or something and post it where you can see it throughout the day and recite it throughout the day…especially when your mind starts to become consumed by your burdens. Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death.
