The Deceitfulness Of Sin
Everyone is being deceived everyday by so many entities. News media spins the
story to fit the narrative because the truth does not fit. Advertising promotes
some things about the product that may not be entirely true. Politicians just
tell us what they think we want to hear to get elected, and then ignore the
public when they get the power to make changes. If someone thinks they can pull
one over on you, they will try to do so.
In the spiritual realm there is a lot of deceitfulness. Anyone who leaves any
of God's truth out of their doctrine is deceiving their followers. These people
have been blinded to the truth and as a result both will fall into the pit.
Not all those who teach error are aware of such because that is what they were
taught. But you would think that if they really studied the Bible, they would
study themselves out of error. So the reality is that these people choose to
be deceivers.
In Hebrews 3:13 we read the following: "But encourage one another day after
day, as long as it is still called 'today', lest any one of you be hardened
by the deceitfulness of sin". What this means is that we need fellow Christians
to help us stay on the right track.
The Bible gives us the tools we need to stay on the right track. It gives us
encouragement as well as warning. It goes into detail on how we are to behave
in everyday life. If people will just read, listen, and study the Bible, they
will be able to remain in God's good graces. The Bible gives us this warning
in Galatians 6:7-8 "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever
a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall
from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from
the Spirit reap eternal life".
It has been said by different people in many ways that Sin is deceitful; it
takes you farther than you want to go; keeps you longer than you want to stay;
and convinces you that everything is alright with God, even though it is not.
Satan is described by Jesus as the great deceiver and of being the father of
lies (John 8:44). His lie deceived Adam and Eve and brought sin into the world
(Genesis 3). Satan is full of deception. Paul describes him as the great deceiver
and his servants disguise themselves as angels of light. John calls him the
deceiver of the world in Revelation 12:9. He is the enemy and the evil one.
He is also called the god of this world in 2 Corinthians 4:4. This is a rightful
title because so many people in the world have allowed Satan to be their God.
Here is where we implore you to consider your ways and stop being deceived by
Satan or sin. There is only one sure way to reach heaven, and that is doing
what God wills for you to do (Matthew 7:21). Anyone who teaches you can be saved
by not doing what God commands is a deceiver and will cause your soul to be
lost. Do not let that happen. Resolve to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and honor
Him as God. Do what He says and do what the New Testament teaches you in your
ways of life. If you choose not to do so, you will face God and be condemned
forever. Turn to God and be faithful until death so that you can receive the
crown of life (Revelation 2:10). It is your choice to make. Please make the
right choice. Receive the word of God and search the scriptures to ensure you
are being taught the truth.
