Do Not Tell Me About
God
*For this is a rebellious people, false sons, Sons who refuse to listen
to the instruction of the LORD* NASB *and have said to His messengers and prophets;
*Don*t tell us what God has shown you and don*t preach the truth. Just say what
we want to hear, even if it*s false. Stop telling us what God has said! We don*t
want to hear any more about the Holy God of Israel*. CEV Isaiah 30:9-11
We can understand if these were atheists or pagans or people who did not know
about the God of heaven, that they would say this. But the people who spoke these
words were the chosen ones of Abrahams seed. The Jews, a.k.a. the Israelites.
These people refused to listen to God. That is why God called them rebellious.
In other places in the Bible God calls them obstinate, wicked, abominable, and
unrighteous. God also warned that the promised blessings would be removed from
them if they did not return to serving God. They did not return to God, and that
is why God removed the land promise from them.
It appears that in today*s society that more and more people are telling their
preachers and church leaders to stop telling them what God has said, but just
give them what they want. For the most part, many preachers have just caved and
done precisely that very thing. Don*t preach from the Bible, and they said *OK*.
Don*t tell us what God requires of mankind, and they said *OK*. Don*t tell us
how serious God is about our faithfulness, and they said *OK*. Don*t tell us about
hell which is reserved for the Devil and everyone who does not trust God and obey
Him, and they said *OK*.
"and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because
they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. And for this reason
God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they might believe what is
false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but
took pleasure in wickedness." 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
If people do not want the truth of God, God will allow them to believe error.
But they must also realize (which they refuse to do) that regardless of what they
want to believe, it will be God's word that judges them in the end. They may feel
good about themselves, but it will only last in this life time. On the Day of
Judgment, many people will wish that they had done what God commanded, and sadly,
they will have eternity to think about it.
Now when someone finally does come along and starts preaching from the Bible what
God requires of mankind, they are in such a minority, that people consider them
peculiar for not being like all the other preachers. Believe it or not, there
are some preachers who believe in Book, Chapter, and Verse preaching. There are
some preachers who warn people to turn away from sin or face eternal torment.
There are preachers that do teach that faithful obedience to ALL of God*s commandments
will result in eternal life in Heaven.
Don*t be like God*s chosen people of the past. Make the effort to devote your
life to God and be obedient to all His commands, and serve ye the LORD. You are
invited to come and worship with us in a way that serves and pleases God.
God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). You must believe that Jesus
is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37). You must repent
of your sins (Luke 13:3), you must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and you
must be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then you must remain
faithful and continue learning how to serve God (2 Peter 3:18). Let us help you
on your spiritual journey. May God bless you in your study of His word. Remember
that life is short, and death comes to everyone, and that judgment is for certain.
Are you prepared?
How can we help?
