If The Bible Is From God...
The real tragedy is that people really question whether the Bible is the product of God or of a deep dark conspiracy by the church of years ago to control the masses and minds of its adherents. Many people would really like to see the Bible proven to be a work of man. That is because there would be no divine authority surrounding it. It would also mean that morality would become subjective, and that there would be no everlasting punishment for disobedience of God*s laws. That would be a great comfort to many who are not living as they know they should.
If the Bible is from God there are several things we must consider.
1. All people in the world are personally responsible for the way they respond to it.
2. Everyone in the world will be judged by its contents.
3. Everyone must look at its contents and make choices about how they will respond to it.
4. Everyone will one day bow to Jesus Christ who is "King of Kings and Lord of Lords."
5. Every statement and every thing in it is absolutely true and cannot be contested by any man or group of men. John 17:17 tells us that it is the *TRUTH*
6. The beginning of man was through creation and not evolution.
There are other facts that must be faced, but these will suffice for now. The problem we have is that so many refuse to accept the Bible as having Divine authorship.
I believe that many of you who read these articles from our church to the community believe that the Bible is the Word of God and fully reveals the mind and will of God. Many of you belong to churches that have catechisms and manuals and creed books that assert the Bible is God*s word. Yet that word says not to add to it, and what is a creed book but an addition to God*s word.
The Bible teaches there are consequences for disobedience, but most people live like those consequences do not exist. Even Bible believers behave like the world when it comes to respecting the authority of the Bible in matters of religious doctrine, teaching, and practice.
The Bible teaches us to love our spouses, our children, our neighbors, and our enemies, yet hatred is practiced in many diverse ways in our society. This should not be. In fact, love is probably the most important thing in existence. We all should learn the prinicples of love and practice them towards everyone.
The Bible teaches servitude is the best form of obedience, but many demand to be served by God instead of serving God. Probably the one word that should described a Christian is the word servant. If you choose not to serve others, God has no need for you in His kingdom.
Some in the religious community seek to reason how they can still receive His blessings without obedience to His commands. Many still teach lies and errors and their followers will suffer eternal torment for such. You had better be sure about your beliefs and your decision to obey God or man. This is not saying that these teachers are insincere or downright rebellious towards God. Yet when anyone teaches doctrines that do not agree with Bible doctrine, they are teaching error.
One more thing the Bible does is to give hope to those who believe God and those who obey God. The hope is that we will receive an eternal bliss in Heaven with God.
We know that God is not willing that any perish (2 Peter 3:9). You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37). You must repent of your sins (Luke 13:3), you must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and you must be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then you must remain faithful and continue learning how to serve God (2 Peter 3:18). Let us help you on your spiritual journey. May God bless you in your study of His word.
