What Does The Bible Say About Original Sin?

Absolutely nothing! Yet for some reason, this doctrine of original sin seems to be taught, believed, and repeated very often. "Original Sin" is the doctrine that the sin of Adam and Eve is transferred to every human being. Thus being born in sin, and in need of salvation from birth.
I would suggest that the reason people turn to the concept of original sin is because they do not want to take responsibility for their own sins. Let*s face it, if we can blame the Republicans or Democrats, or place the blame on our parents, music, society, or all the way back to Adam and Eve, then we can view ourselves as not so bad (in our own minds). As long as we can put the blame somewhere other than upon ourselves, we will do so.
But notice a few passages in the Bible.
Jeremiah 31:30 *But everyone will die for his own iniquity;**
Ezekiel 20:4 **the soul who sins will die.*
Ezekiel 20:13 **his blood will be on his own head*.
Ezekiel 20:20 *the person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the fathers iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son*s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself*.
Some preachers and denominations will teach that everyone is born in sin. This teaching cannot be supported by the Bible. Some will pull a few passages out of context to draw a wrong conclusion, but the Bible does not support the teaching of *original sin*. Jesus taught that for people to become followers of Christ, they must become blameless, and guiltless of sin. They are to humble themselves before they can be exalted by God.
If your preacher teaches original sin, you are listening to someone who is not teaching the truth of God*s word. If your church or denomination teaches the concept of original sin, they are wrong. You need to make your calling and election sure by learning and understanding the truth of God*s word, and by getting away from those who teach error, whether they are sincere or not.
Jesus said for us to be in a relationship with Him, we need to be like a little child. If children are born in sin, this makes no sense. Yet if children are born in innocence, it fits to a tee.
Isaiah 59:2 says *But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.*
If original sin is a valid doctrine, much of the Bible would need to be rewritten. Please think on these things (Philippians 4:8). The Bible is not wrong, the false doctrine of *original sin* is wrong.
You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for your sins. (Acts 8:37). You must repent of your sins (Luke 13:3) you must confess Jesus as Lord (Matthew 10:32) and you must be baptized for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16). Then you must remain faithful and continue learning (2 Peter 3:18). Let us help you on your spiritual journey.May God bless you in your study of His word.
