SIX SEARCHING QUESTIONS

I. What Am I?

A. A Being Endowed With Moral Consciousness: -- "I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air: but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after tht I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected" (Rom. 7:15-25; 1 Cor. 9:26,27).

B. Therefore I Am A Responsible Being: -- "For none of us liveth to himself, and none dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or thou again, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all
stand before the judgment-seat of God. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, to Me every knee shall bow, And every tongue shall confess to God. So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God" (Rom. 14:7-12).

II. Whence Came I?

A. I Came From God: -- "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Gen. 2:7).

B. We Have Our Being In God: -- Acts 17:24-29.

III. Where Am I Bound?

A. The Body To The Grave, And The Spirit Unto Him Who Gave It: -- "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it" (Eccl. 12:7).

B. For The Judgment: -- "And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this cometh judgment" (Heb. 9;27).

C. For Eternity: -- "And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life" (Matt. 25: 46).

IV. What Is My Duty?

A. To Hear Christ: -- "While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye Him" (Mt. 17:5).

B. To Believe All That He Says And Obey It: -- Matt. 7:24-29;
28:19,20; Mk. 16:15,16.

V. What Is My Danger?

A. To Neglect Salvation: -- "And to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of His power in flaming fire, rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus: who shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of His might" (2 Thes. 1:7-9). "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them. For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward: how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation?" (Heb 2:1-4).

B. We Can Lose Our Soul: -- "For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for My sake shall find it. For what shall a man be profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?" (Matt. 16:25,26).

VI. What Is My Destiny?

A. Heaven Or Hell: -- Matt. 25:30-46; Lk. 16:19-31).

Conclusion: -- We need to let these questions search our lives, and let us hope that we can produce the right answers.
