Venting About Our Social Media Language

(I put this on my facebook page, and thought that there are reasons to share with you)

1 Peter 2:1 "Therefore, putting aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisy and envy and all slander",

Colossians 3:8 "But now you also, put them all aside; anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth".

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear".

Galatians 5:19-21 "Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outburst of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God".

For those of you who claim to be a Christian, I implore you to consider these passages of Scripture. I have watched you on facebook do these very things in regard to the President, Republicans, Democrats, and really, anybody you disagree with. While you may deny that your internal intent is never this way, what you post on Facebook declares your true actions. I get that you may not like people of a different color, people who earn more money than you, people who speak a different language, and so forth. The warning from scripture is that if you express (whether by word, speech, or written) any of these things, your soul is in jeopardy.

I have watched (read) people who call themselves a Christian actually use profanity towards the President or others they might disagree with. I get that you may not like the President. I am not a big fan of his either, but according to 2 Timothy 1:1-3, my duty to God is to pray for him/her/whoever is in authority.

My question is: what can your hateful speech do to change the situation? Spreading lies (either direction) is not good for edification in any way.

I know that many of you need to repent and change your ways. Somehow, I also believe that you will ignore these words and continue in your ways, and somehow you will feel justified by your thoughts. I warn you that your soul is in danger. Remember what Jesus about calling someone a fool?

I have to confess that I have probably fallen in the category of which I am describing, and I promise to do better in the future. So please stop spreading lies or spreading things that are sent to you. Some of you might be honest in thinking such things are good to vent your frustration. As Dr. Birx said in an interview, she explained that the media uses all sorts of slicing and dicing of the Presidents words to spin away from what is actually said.

Please, follow God's instruction and PRAY for all in authority. And pray for the best for all of them and us, do not pray that someone assassinates him or any of our leaders. Several prominent people have done so already, and they seem to get a pass from everyone.
OK, I have vented and you can choose to ignore this and go back to your (EXPRESSED) hatred you share with the world.
