Question: Adam was made in God's image, so does that mean God has a physical body?

Answer: The Bible plainly states that God is a Spirit (John 4:24). As the Spiritual Beings created man, God said: "Let us create man in OUR Image. In 1 Sam 16:7 we see that God's view of man is different from man's view of man. In Isaiah 55:8 we read that "God's ways and thoughts are higher than man's ways and thoughts.

Man cannot comprehend the depth and vastness of a spiritual God. So, in order for us to have an appreciation for God, God revealed, through His prophets and Word, Himself.

Since man is human and limited by space, time, and physics, the Bible was written in such a way to comprehend the enormity and vastness of a spiritual being.

I believe that "in the image of God" has to do with the character of God. Having the capacity to think. Having the ability to make a choice. Having the mind to consider all things in a perspective of a grander scale than the animals. Having a sense of wrong or right. And being able to know the consequences of our actions.

An eagle perches on the edge of a cliff and is looking for movement which is an indication of food. A man sits on that same spot and gives God praise and glory for what God has done. We realize we are nothing but animals without GOD. Praise Him!
