Question: What did Jesus mean in Luke 17:32 when He said "Remember Lot's wife"?

Answer: The easiest answer to give is : "DONT LOOK BACK".

There is a great danger for the Christian who has come to Christ and dedicated his/her life to Him. That danger is one of returning back to the world from which they came.
We may remember our fun and frolic.
We may remember the fulfilling of our lusts.
We may remember our families who have disowned us.
We may remember many things which lie behind.

Paul also gave us the same concept when he wrote to the Philippians, "...forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead." Phil 3:13 (read v.14 also).
Also the Hebrew writer touches this subject in Heb 12:1-2.

Lot's wife was warned not to look back, but she did anyways (whatever the reason is not important; the fact that she DID look back is).

A Christian should be encouraged to not seek the things of the past but a new life in Christ where blessings lie. The dispair of our past life should become nothing to us as we continue to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).
