Question: What is a Personal Relationship with God?

Answer: Two answers from me.

First answer (and most important): What other kind of relationship can anyone have with GOD? (rhetorical question, answer not needed).

Second answer: For many folks that I have counciled, it is a cop-out. As I teach people about their responsibility and obligation to God, they not wanting to do what God has spoken, will say something to this effect: "I have a personal relationship with God....we have an understanding"

For most people that I have discussed the Bible with, this is all the comfort they need to live their life anyway that they want and not feel guilty about it. Our relationship with God MUST be on God's terms, not ours. (www.Askme.com on 7/22/2000)
