• Some Benefits Of Being A Christian

• Introduction
• Sometimes the people of the world look at Christians and think they are missing out on so much.
• While we listen to God and flee from those things He calls sin,
(1 Thessalonians 5:22)
• The world thinks we are missing out on the fun, sex, riches, power, and personal freedom that they think brings happiness.
• Then why are so many of them miserable?

• Introduction
• The reality is that Christians have made the personal choice to become a Christian,
• and live as a Christian because it is the best life on earth. (John 10:10)
• And Christianity has more blessings and opportunities afforded than any other life (and there’s no comparison).(Matthew 5:3-11)
• Think about these things.
(Philippians 4:8)

• Our Benefits
• Christians have a family that is made up of all nationalities, all social classes and peoples of all kinds from all walks of life.
• And Christians can find members of their family all around the globe, wherever they go. (Acts 2:47;
1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
• What better class of friends and family can anyone have on this earth?
(1 Thessalonians 1:1-10)

• Our Benefits
• Christians have true friends. (True friends want the best for you and nothing is better than reaching heaven. If your friends are not helping you to get to heaven, they are not your true friends).
• All of their brothers and sisters in Christ. (1 Peter 2:17)
• Christians should love and trust without reservation. (Romans 12:9-21)
• For these true friends are doing the same in return. (1 Peter 4:10;
1 Peter 5:9)

• Our Benefits
• Christians love each other for who they are. (1 Peter 1:22; 1 John 3:11)
• The Children of God. (Ephesians 1:5-6;
John 1:12; Romans 8:14,19;
1 John 3:1-2)
• Not what they have or what they can do.
• And Christians only want the best for each other. (1 John 3:23;
• This is summed up in the command to “love one another”—Always. (Romans 13:9, Galatians 5:14; James 2:8)
• (at least that is what God wants us to do). (John 14:23; John 15:12,17)

• Our Benefits
• Christians get to be friends with the Creator of this universe. (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16,17)
• People are always looking for powerful people and influential persons with whom to build a friendship.
• Wow!
• Is there anyone more powerful and more influential than the One who made everything from nothing?

• Our Benefits
• And, Christians are the only individuals on this earth who can rightly call God their “Friend”; and their “Father”. (James 2:23: 2 Thessalonians 2:1)
• Their Savior; Refuge; Strength; Fortress; Shield; Protector; etc. (Titus 2:10; Titus 3:4; 2 Peter 1:1; Jude 25; Psalm 46:1; Psalm 81:1; Psalm 18:2; Psalm 144:2; Psalm 3:3; Psalm 33:20; Psalm 84:9)
• Christians can talk to God anytime they choose to do so. (1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Timothy 2:1-2;)
• The best part of this blessing is that God listens. (Psalm 130:2 Psalm 34:15-16)

• Our Benefits
• Christians have a loving Father to whom they can turn in the good times and the bad times.
• It does not matter the time of day or the time of night;
• It does not matter the weight of the burden or the size of the problem.
• Christians alone have a compassionate Father upon whom they can cast every worry, every care, every trouble. (1 Peter 5:7; Philippians 4:6; Matthew 6:30-34)

• Our Benefits
• Christians get to be a part of the greatest work on earth. (Matthew 5:16; John 6:28; John 9:4)
• No other person and no other religion has had anywhere near the impact on human life (there’s no comparison) as has Jesus Christ and Christianity.
• Christians get to share in this most incredible work.
(Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 1:10; 2 Corinthians 6;1)
• Christians do this through personal effort, financial contributions, encouragement of others, and telling the message of Christ themselves.
(2 Timothy 4:5)

• Our Benefits
• Christians alone enjoy the most blessed and fulfilling life on earth. (John 10:10)
• Christians alone can enjoy good, clean fun, without the worries of things like STDs, DUIs, DWIs, LSD, etc.
• Christians alone have the guarantee of eternal bliss, peace and joy after life on this earth is complete.

• Conclusion
• The best benefit of all is the retirement package.
• Are you a Christian?
• If not, you’re missing out!
• You are missing out on great benefits.
• These benefits can be yours if you dedicate yourself to Christ today and begin your journey through life by walking with God. (1 John 1:6-10)
