THE DOCTRINES OF MEN VS THE DOCTRINE OF GOD.

INTRO:

1. When the Bible speaks of doctrines it is alway referring to man-made doctrines as being many.

2. But, when it speaks of the doctrine of God or Christ it always is in the singular, for god has only one teaching, one plan, one scheme of redemption for all.

3. The definition of doctrine is: mode of teaching or what is taught.

4. Let us first consider man's teachings and how they affect the world and God's teaching.

I. THE DOCTRINES OF MEN:

A. Make void the word of God. Mk. 7:13

B. Make the worship vain. Matt. 15:9,14.

C. Cause divisions. Rom. 16:17,18.

D. Are contrary. Rom. 16:17,18; 1 Tim. 1:10.

E. Cause offenses. Rom. 16:17,18; Matt. 18:6.

F. Serve not the Christ. Rom. 16:17,18.

G. Beguile the simple or innocent. Rom. 16:17,18.

H. Exalt against God. 2 Cor. 10:4,5.

I. Pervert the gospel. Gal. 1:6-9; 2 Cor. 2:17.

J. Toss and carry about. Eph. 4:14; Heb. 13:9.

K. Make spoil of you. Col. 2:8.

L. Are of no value. Col. 2:22,23.

M. Minister questions. 1 Tim. 1:;3,4.

N. Doctrines of devils. 1 Tim. 4:1,2.

O. Cause men to fall. 2 Tim. 4:1,2.

P. Cause envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings. 1 Tim. 6:3-5.

Q. Deny Christ, damn and destroy. 2 Pet. 2:1,2.

R. Spiritless and Godless. 2 Jno. 9.

II. THE DOCTRINE OF GOD:

A. It is Christ's doctrine. 2 Jno. 9.

B. It is God's doctrine. Jno. 7:16; 1 Tim. 6:1.

C. It is the apostles' doctrine. Acts 2:;42.

D. It is sound doctrine. 1 Tim. 1:10; Titus 2:1.

E. It is good doctrine. 1 Tim. 4:6.

F. It is according to Godliness. 1 Tim. 6:3.

G. It is the wholesome words of Jesus. 1 Tim. 6:3.

H. We can know it. Jno. 7:17.

I. It saves. 1 Tim. 4:16.

J. When it is obeyed, it is the form of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Rom. 6:3,4,17,18.

K. We must abide in it to have God and Christ. 2 Jno. 9.

L. Adulteration of it is strictly forbidden. Deut. 4:2; Prov. 30:6; Isa. 5:20; Jer. 23:25- 32; Gal. 1:6-9; 1 Cor. 4:6; 1 Tim. 1:3; Rev. 22:18,19; Mal. 2:17; 2 Jno. 9.

CONCLUSION:

Yes, the doctrines of men are numbered in the thousands, but there is only one doctrine of God.

Jesus says: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jno. 14:6.

We need to: "Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls..." Jer. 6:16.
