FAITH IN ACTION
. Heb. 11.

INTRO:

1. There are two ways to consider the word "Faith".

A. First, there is the system of faith; or God's plan for man's salvation. Jude 3; Gal. 3:11; Acts 14:22; 16:5; Hab. 2:4.

B. Second, there is one's own personal belief in the system and in God as the Giver of the plan. Lk. 17:5; Rom. 14:1; 1 Cor. 2:5.

I. FACTS OF FAITH -- God is. Jesus is His Son. Jesus died. Jesus was raised from the dead. He ascended back to the Father in heaven. He now reigns at God's right hand in heaven. He is not King of kings and Lord of lords. Psa. 14:1; Jno. 3:16; 1 Cor. 15:14.

A. He sent His Spirit -- Jno. 14:26; 16:13,14.

B. We have a perfect law -- Jas. 1:25.

II. ACTION OF FAITH -- There are certain works that are included in one's faith. Jno. 6:29; Jas. 2:14-26.

III. INCREASE OF FAITH -- There must be a continuous progress in one's faith. Lk. 17:5; 8:15; 2 Pet. 1:2-11; 1 Thes. 3:9-13.

IV. TRUST OF FAITH -- If we truly have the faith we need, to be saved, our trust will be in God and His word. Psa. 4:5; Jer. 17:7; Psa. 37:3,5 62:8.

A. We need to trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.

V. HUMILITY OF FAITH -- One that has faith in God and in His word, will be humbly submissive before God. Jas. 4:6,10; 1 Pet. 3:8; Mic. 6:8 1 Pet. 5:5,6; Prov. 15:33.

CONCLUSION:

1. Faith must be real in one's life.

2. Faith is demanding.

A. It demands that we believe that God will reward those that diligently seek Him, and that He will punish those who do not. Heb. 11:6.

3. Abraham is referred to as the father of the faithful.

A. He put first things first. He gave up his home and country. He offered up his son. He looked for a city whose builder and maker is God.
