Four Lost Souls
How Does Jesus View Them?
Luke 19:10 “ For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost”.

Luke 15: 4-7
Lost by reason of ignorance and/or stupidity.
Lost their leader.
Do not know which way to go.
Did not pay attention.
Cannot find their own way.
Either intentional or unintentional.
May not have realized they were lost.

Luke 15:8-10
Of no service to God
If one loses money, they search tirelessly for it until they find it.
Why? Because it has value to them.
Why does the soul not have as much value?
When lost, it is useless for any purpose.
These are not lost by their own doing, they are lost because someone misplaced them by negligence or false teaching.

Luke 15:11-24
Did so because of rebellion and selfishness.
Chose his own path, and ended up with the pigs as roommates.
Luckily, he came to his senses.
Many are not as fortunate.

Luke 15:25-32
Gave every appearance of being faithful.
Yet his heart was sour.
Nobody knew he was lost.
Even his own father did not realize it.
He expressed disfavor for the return of a lost soul.
His own brother returning should have brought him much joy.
His actions were an act of selfishness, and selfishness is always sin.

Conclusion
Jesus makes it plain that He is the sinners friend.
He died for all.
He is forever seeking their recovery.
Great joy in heaven when one is found and returns to the LORD.
Our return to the LORD must be intentional.
We make the choice to obey Him.
Without that obedience, nothing can save us.
