Powerful Words
• Introduction
• Romans 15: 4 For whatever things were written before were written for
our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might
have hope.
• Words are important
• They are used to communicate
• They are used to instruct
• They are used in our language
• Bible words are important too.
• Let’s notice some small words that are powerful.
• Do
• Deuteronomy 6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the
judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them
in the land whither ye go to possess it:
• Do
• John 2: 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto
you, do it.
• Best advice ever.
• 2 Peter 1: 10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your
call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble
• James 1: 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
yourselves.
• 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a
man observing his natural face in a mirror;
• 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind
of man he was.
• 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it,
and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed
in what he does.
• If
• Deuteronomy 28: 1 "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey
the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which
I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations
of the earth.
• 28:15 "But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of
the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes
which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake
you:
• John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he
will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make
Our home with him.
• 1John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
• This is a conditional word.
• Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
• Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season
we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
• 1Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
• 2Timothy 2:11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall
also live with Him.
• 2Timothy 2:12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
• Hebrews 2:3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which
at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those
who heard Him,
• Hebrews 3:6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are
if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
• Hebrews 3:14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning
of our confidence steadfast to the end,
• 1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship
with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
• 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
• 1John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
• All
• 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been
given to Me in heaven and on earth.
• 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
• 20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
• 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
• 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every
good work.
• Conclusion
• DO---God does not want us to be bystanders and hearers only. We are to
do His commandments. It is not optional.
• IF---God promised blessings upon the condition that we meet His requirements.
• ALL---Not some, part, half, or most. God wants us to do all that He commands
of us.
