Everyone Is Running Out Of Time
"For this let every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found; surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach unto Him"
(Psalm 32:6).
Introduction
There is a countdown for each of us.
The clock is winding down to zero.
The numbers are smaller for some of us than for others.
Yet we also do not know if we will see tomorrow.
Some Things Are Too Late
When you see the smoke, it is too late to go buy a fire extinguisher.
When you are in bad health, it is too late to buy insurance.
There are not a few who will say before the operation that “I wish I had taken better care of myself”.
Some will realize the bad choices they made often when it is too late.
It Is Not Too Late, Yet.
But why take a chance?
Most people have a Bible, but do not take time to read and study it.
Many people have church members concerned for their souls, but do not consider their own souls themselves.
The longer your ignore something you know you need, the easier it is to ignore.
So why do you procrastinate?
Doing God’s Will
Matthew 7:24-25: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock”.
Not Doing God’s Will
Matthew 7:26-27: “And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house, and it fell, and great was its fall”.
It’s Too Late!
When the operation begins it's too late to take vitamin pills.
When the battle begins it's too late to train the troops.
When the whistle blows, it is too late to teach a game plan.
When the flood waters rise it's too late to find a rock foundation.
When Satan attacks they only can resist who have put on the whole armor of God.
We Know The Merits Of Prevention
Having earthquake insurance is a good idea around here.
Eating right and living a healthy lifestyle helps prevent sickness and disease.
Everybody knows that just walking a mile each day would improve their health very much, but who does it? Not many!
Buying the fire extinguisher before there is a problem is wise, and one is prepared if a fire happens.
Learning our Bible is the best thing for our soul, yet how few actually do it?
We have to realize there is a war out there.
Satan is attacking us 24/7/365, and does not give up.
Are we taking this battle seriously?
Many do not.
That is why we need to wear God’s armor every day.
The Armor Of God
Why do we need it?
So we can “Be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might”. Ephesians 6:10
So that you may be able “to stand firm against the schemes of the devil”. Ephesians 6:11
“Because our struggle is not against flesh and blood…” Ephesians 6:12
So we can “resist in the evil day and stand firm” Ephesians 6:13
Truth wrapped around you.
Putting righteousness at the forefront of your life.
Preparation (achieved by study) of the gospel message: knowing it and teaching it.
The shield of faith which is our protection.
The helmet of salvation is our hope.
Sword of the spirit, the Bible
And prayer
Running Out Of Time
Memorize verses now; when you need it, you won't have
time later on.
Worship God this Sunday and every Sunday; or when you need that strength, you won't have time to develop it.
Repent of that sin now; when Christ comes, you won't have time.
Review your broken connection with God and His church now; at your funeral, you won't have time.
Because of the fatality in becoming a Christian too late, obey God now when it's not too late.
Become a Christian now -- in the judgment day you won't have time.
Conclusion
Don't be almost persuaded, but lost.
Obey the Lord and be saved.
In doing so, you will be prepared when He comes again and causes you to stand before Him in judgment.
Will you take the prevention seriously?
Your soul is at stake.
