But I thought God knew everything.

Introduction
Yes, God knows all, sees all, and even knows what is in our thoughts.
But there are some things God chooses to refrain from knowing.
Of course, God will never be inconsistent with His nature. God cannot lie being one attribute. God does not make us sin, another.
Perhaps it is how we use the word “know” that will tell us what this means.

God Does Not Know:
Any person other than Jesus Christ to be man’s Savior from sin.
Jesus is the ONLY Mediator between God and man.
This is by the shedding of His blood.
Acts 4:10-12
1 Corinthians 3:11
1 Timothy 2:4-5
1 Peter 1:18-19
Hebrews 5:8-9

God Does Not Know:
Any other guide book that can show man the way to heaven other than the Bible.
It is God’s inspired word.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
It is God’s power
Romans 1:16
It is the only book in the world that tells us how to be saved, how to live acceptable to God, how to worship that God, and prepare for eternity.

The Bible
It is written.
It is once for all delivered
Jude 3
It is complete and everything we need
2 Peter 1:3
Books written by men deceive and lead people away from God
Proverbs 14:12
Colossians 2:8

God Does Not Know:
Any other church than the one Jesus Christ built.
Matthew 16:18
The one that Jesus purchased with is blood.
Acts 20:28
The one to which the saved are added
Acts 2:47

The Church Jesus Built
The church which is His bride
Ephesians 5;23
This one church was promised, planned, prepared, perfected before time began
Ephesians 1:7
This church came into existence on the day of Pentecost 50 days after Jesus died on the cross.
Acts 2

The Church Jesus Built
There is one church
Ephesians 4:4
It is designed to glorify God
Ephesians 3;10-11,21
Man must be careful to follow the pattern given to us through the word
Hebrews 8:5
1 Corinthians 4:16-17

God Does Not Know:
Any other way to be saved than that which is spelled out on the pages of the New Testament.
The book of Acts gives us 8 or 9 examples of people being saved
In every case we have people believing the gospel, repenting of their sins, confessing Jesus as lord, and being baptized for the remission of their sins.
Only after baptism did they rejoice in their salvation.
God requires the same thing for every person who is capable of understanding.
Acts 10:34-35

God Does Not Know:
Any excuse that man can offer which He will accept for not obeying the gospel.
Hebrews 2:1-3
God gives time to obey by His grace
2 Corinthians 6:2
Acts 22:16

God Does Not Know:
Your past sins.
Once you are cleansed by the blood of Jesus, God remembers your sins no more.
This was a promise of God through the prophets.
Romans 4:6-8
Jeremiah 31:34 (quoted Hebrews 10:17)
Psalm 32:1-2

God Does Not Know:
YOU
If you are still in your sins.
Isaiah 59:2, Acts 22:16, Luke 13:3
If you have not obeyed all His commands.
Hebrews 5:8-9, Matthew 7:21

YOU
If you have rejected the Christ.
Hebrews 12:25
If you have pride
Matthew 7:21-23
If you do not teach His truths.
2 John 9

Conclusion
So the word “know” as used in this sermon is meant to “recognize” as valid.
God will never deny Himself, and will forever be faithful to Himself and to all mankind as He revealed in His word.
We must learn what God wants us to know, and do it.
Isn’t it time that you allowed yourself to be known by God?
