Deuteronomy 12:11 (NKJV) "then there will be the place where the LORD your God chooses to make His name abide. There you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, and all your choice offerings which you vow to the LORD.

Job 24:13 (NKJV) "There are those who rebel against the light; They do not know its ways Nor abide in its paths.

Psalms 15:1 (NKJV) LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?

[Notice there is only one word translated abide in the Greek. The definition though carries just about every thought has we gave by the Hebrew words. Often, the context determines the meaning of the word.]

Luke 24:29 (NKJV) But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." And He went in to stay with them.

John 3:36 (NKJV) "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

John 6:56 (NKJV) "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

John 8:31 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
