Christianity Is A Narrow Religion

"BECAUSE STRAIT IS THE GATE, AND NARROW IS THE WAY, WHICH LEADETH UNTO LIFE, AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT". Matt. 7:14.

Make no mistake about it. This must be the case because truth is always narrow. Jesus defined His way as a narrow one. Possessing divine insight, our Lord knew that the multitudes would not care enough, or love Him enough, to believe, and follow Him faithfully unto death. Rev. 2:10.

Jesus knew that the majority would favor the popular, the convenient, the comfortable kind of religion. To truly follow and honor Christ, however, one must forsake the popular, the convenient, the comfortable. We are thus instructed:

"For even hereunto were ye called: Because Christ also suffered for us, Leaving us an example, That ye should follow His steps: Who did not sin, Neither was guile found in His mouth: Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again. When he suffered, He threatened not, But committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously: Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, That we, being dead to sins, Should live unto righteousness: By whose stripes ye are healed." 1 Pet. 2:21-24.

Christ was bold in His condemnation of sin and error. He did not mince words. He was not principally concerned with His popularity among men but with doing the will of the Father. Jno. 4:34.

We need in our age to restore this same fearless faith of the Christ in the hearts of Christians. We must of necessity be intolerant of sin and error, remembering that it was our Savior who said, "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
