• Some Things God Does Not Know
• But I thought God knew everything.

• Introduction
• Yes, God knows all, sees all, and even knows what is in our thoughts.
• But there are some things God chooses to refrain from knowing.
• Of course, God will never be inconsistent with His nature. God cannot lie being one attribute. God does not make us sin, another.
• Perhaps it is how we use the word “know” that will tell us what this means.

• God Does Not Know:
Any person other than Jesus Christ to be man’s Savior from sin.
• Jesus is the ONLY Mediator between God and man.
• This is by the shedding of His blood.
• Acts 4:10-12 “let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the very corner stone. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved”.
• 1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ”.
• 1 Timothy 2:4-5 “For there is one God, and one Mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”.
• 1 Peter 1:18-19 “knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ”.
• Hebrews 5:8-9 “Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation”.

• God Does Not Know:
Any other guide book that can show man the way to heaven other than the Bible.
• It is God’s inspired word.
• 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work”.
• It is God’s power
• Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek”.
• It is the only book in the world that tells us how to be saved, how to live acceptable to God, how to worship that God, and prepare for eternity.
• It is once for all time delivered to us.
• Jude 3 “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints”.
• It is complete and everything we need
• 2 Peter 1:3 “seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence”.
• Books written by men deceive and lead people away from God.
• Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death”.
• Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ”.

• God Does Not Know:
Any other church than the one Jesus Christ built.
• Matthew 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter; and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it”.
• It is the one that Jesus purchased with is blood.
• Acts 20:28 “Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with his own blood”.
• The one to which the saved are added
• Acts 2:47 “praising God, and having favor with all the people, and the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved”.
• The church which is His bride.
• Ephesians 5:25-27 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless”.
• This one church was promised, planned, prepared, perfected before time began
• Ephesians 1:4-6 “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him, In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved”.
• This church came into existence on the day of Pentecost 50 days after Jesus died on the cross.

• There is one church
• Ephesians 4:4 “There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;”
• It is designed to glorify God

• Man must be careful to follow the pattern given to us through the word
• Hebrews 8:5 “who serves a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for ”See” He says, “that you make all things according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain”.”
• 1 Corinthians 4:16-17 “I exhort you therefore, be imitators of me. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church”.

• God Does Not Know:
Any other way to be saved than that which is spelled out on the pages of the New Testament.
• The book of Acts gives us 8 or 9 examples of people being saved
• In every case we have people believing the gospel, repenting of their sins, confessing Jesus as Lord, and being baptized for the remission of their sins.
• Only after baptism did they rejoice in their salvation.
• God requires the same thing for every person who is capable of understanding.
• Acts 10:34-35 “and opening his mouth, Peter said: ‘I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right, is welcome to Him’.”

• God Does Not Know:
Any excuse that man can offer which He will accept for not obeying the gospel.
• Hebrews 2:1-3 “For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard.”
• God gives us time to obey by His grace.
• Acts 22:16 “And now why do you delay? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.”
• 2 Corinthians 6:2 “for He says, ‘At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you’; behold, ‘now is the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the day of salvation’.”
• 2 Peter 3:15 “and regard the patience of our Lord to be salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you,”

• God Does Not Know:
Your past sins once you are cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
• God remembers your sins no more.
• This was a promise of God through the prophets.
• Romans 4:6-8 “just as David also speaks of the blessing upon the man to whom God recons righteousness apart from works; Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven, and whose sins have been covered, Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account”.
• Jeremiah 31:34 (quoted in Hebrews 10:17) “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more”
• Psalm 32:1-2 “How blessed is he whose transgressions is forgiven, whose sin is covered! How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity”.

• God Does Not Know:
YOU -- if you are still in your sins.
• Isaiah 59:2, “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear”.
• Ananias told Paul in Acts 22:16 to not delay any longer, but to be baptized so that his sins could be washed away.
• If you have not obeyed all His commands, you are still in your sins.
• Jesus is the author of salvation according to Hebrews 5:8-9, but it is only for those who obey Him.

• God Does Not Know:
• YOU -- If you have rejected the Christ.
• Hebrews 12:25 “See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less shall we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven.

• Conclusion
• So the word “know” as used in this sermon is meant to “recognize” as valid.
• God will never deny Himself, and will forever be faithful to Himself and to all mankind as He revealed in His word.
• We must learn what God wants us to know, and do it.
• Isn’t it time that you allowed yourself to be known by God?
