• GOD IS ABLE

• Ephesians 3:20-21
• "Now to Him WHO IS ABLE to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen"

• Introduction
• Defined the word “able” means: Having the ability to perform a duty or task successfully.
• Too often, we cannot help but think of everything in human terms.
• Sometimes, this includes the limitations we place upon God.
• An example would be that we think we can hide anything from God, including our own actions.
• Of course, God exceeds all human comprehension, and we fail in limiting God.

• God Is Able:
• Able to deliver (Daniel 3:17) “if it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king”.
• Able to raise up children from stones (Luke 3:8) “Therefore bring forth fruits in keeping with repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’, for I say to you that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham”.
• Able to fulfill all promises (Romans 4:21) “and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able also to perform”.

• God Is Able
• Able to make us stand (Romans 14:4) “Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand”.
• Able to make all grace abound (2 Corinthians 9:8) “And God is ale to make all grace abound to you, that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed”.
• Able to subdue all things (Philippians 3:21) “who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that he has even to subject all things to Himself”. [NIV— “the power that enables Him”.]

• God Is Able
• Able to keep what we have committed to Him until that day (2 Timothy 1:12) “For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day”.
• Able to save Him from death (Hebrews 5:7) “In the days of His (Jesus) flesh, He offered up crying and tears to the One (God) able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety”.

• God Is Able
• Able to save/destroy (Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body, but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”.
• /James 4:12) “There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?”
• Able to keep you from stumbling (Jude 24) “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,”

• Jesus Is Able
• Able to save (Hebrews 7:25) “Hence also, He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them”.
• Able to heal (Matthew 9:28) “And after He had come into the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to Him, ‘Yes Lord’.”

• Jesus Is Able
• Able to drink the cup (Matthew 20:22) “But Jesus answered and said, ‘You do not know what you are asking for. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?’ They said to Him, ‘we are able’.”
• Able to keep us in His hands (John 10:28-29) “ and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s Hand”.
• Able to aid those being tempted (Hebrews 2:18) “For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted”.

• The Bible Is Able
• Able to build you up (Acts 20:32) "So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified”
• Able to make one wise for salvation (2 Timothy 3:15) “and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”.
• Able to save your soul (James 1:21) “Therefore putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls”.

• We Are Able
• But we must realize that we cannot do it on our own, nor can we earn it.
• We are able to resist (Ephesians 6:13) “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm”.
• Able to quench (Ephesians 6:16). ”in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one”.
• We must strive to be able to finish the course (Luke 13:24) “Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able”.

• Conclusion
• ONLY WITH THE STRENGTH OF OUR FATHER, OUR MEDIATOR/ADVOCATE/SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, THE POWER OF HOLY SPIRIT, AND THE EVERLASTING WORD OF GOD ARE WE ABLE:
• To reach heaven.
• To be a good Christian.
• To be what God wants us to be.
• Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
