• Am I Losing My Relationship With God?
• One of the most important questions we must ask ourselves.

• Introduction
• Once we begin a relationship with God we have to work hard to maintain that relationship.
• As time goes along, something changes in each of us, and we begin to question our relationship status with God.
• There are warning signs and red flags or lightbulbs going off all the time.
• Do we pay attention?

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we put others/things before God.
• Matthew 6:24– no one can serve two masters.
• We usually make a choice, but do we make the right choice.
• What factors do we consider when choosing between God and what the world has to offer
• Matthew 10:37—he who loves mother or father more than me is not worthy of me.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we have no real urgency in our lives to save other souls.
• When we hear lessons week after week and not approach others with the gospel, or not even feel the urge to do so.
• After Judgment, we’ll say, “Why didn’t I try to reach others?” (only those who don’t go to heaven).
• Why do we feel differently about the gospel?
• Why do we feel guilty about the gospel?

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we can easily miss an assembly or commit a sin and it not bother our conscience?
• I Timothy 4:2 speaks of those who continue to violate their conscience and continue so—their conscience is seared almost beyond repair.

• Apostasy Is Near...
• When you seldom study the Bible on your own.
• We can’t be strong Christians by just hearing sermons and attending classes.
• I Peter 2:1-2 exhorts us to long, hunger for the word of God,
• Hebrews 5:12-14 tells us that God expects us to grow.
• Lack of Bible study makes us more susceptible to false doctrine.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we have nothing, spiritually, to share with our neighbors. We have so much to offer!
• The good news of salvation.
• The blessings found IN Jesus Christ.
• The blessings of associating with God’s people.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we find fault with everyone and everything but ourselves
• Whether they are elders, preachers, song directors, Bible teachers, members, etc.
• There might be a tendency to gripe about faithful members if they make you feel less than faithful.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When in referring to the members of the church, begin to use the expression “they.”
• Once you have started to talk like this, you no longer feel a part of the group.
• You have alienated yourself from the faithful.
• Yet you try to justify it by some foolish response.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we give little of ourselves.
• 2 Corinthians 8:5, the saints of Macedonia had given first of themselves in the support of the gospel.
• Our energies,
• Our time,
• And our money.
• Of course you might consider that giving money makes up for the things you lack.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When sports or hobbies take precedence over spiritual matters.
• To make matters worse, in doing so, we show our children what is important to us.
• We are the servant of the one whom we serve (Romans 6:16)
• Hebrews 12:1,2; Others have served God faithfully, and should serve as an example.
• Mark 8:34 One must deny them self and that includes all that this world has to offer.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we associate more with those of the world than with Christians
• When we “feel closer” to them than our brethren.
• When we confide in those of the world and seek their advise and wisdom which is void of God.
• When we fail to realize they do not care about your soul.

• Apostasy Is Near
• When we allow our job to take precedence over spiritual matters.
• Some people have no choice as to when their schedule to work occurs.
• We have a mandate from God to provide for our own, and if we lose our job how can we do that?
• This is speaking of those who make the choice to miss services for overtime or just so they can miss church.

• Apostasy Is Near…
• When we become offended or defensive at the concern and interest shown in our spiritual welfare by loved ones.
• We might feel that we are just as good as they are.
• They are just some holier than thou know it all.

• Conclusion
• Are any of the signs of drifting away from Christ present in your life?
• Consider them before it is too late to arrest the disease.
• No disease of mankind is as serious as eternal damnation.
• If these symptoms are developing in your life, stop now and determine you will change your ways!
• Don't delay!
