THE CHRISTIAN'S FLEET

Psa. 107:23-32.

INTRO:

We have talked from time to time concerning the ship of Zion and the Sea of Life, now we want to talk of the Christian's fleet of ships.

I. WHAT ARE THE SHIPS IN THE CHRISTIAN'S FLEET?

A. DiscipleSHIP.

The signs thereof:

1. Bearing fruit. Jno. 15:8.

2. Love one another. Jno. 13:35.

3. Abiding in Christ's word. Jno. 8:31,32.

B. CitizenSHIP.

Obtained by:

1. Not by money. Acts 22:28.

2. By birth. Jno. 3:5.

3. Maintained by loyalty. Mt. 13:41,42; Rev. 2:10.

C. FellowSHIP:

With:

1. Not sin. Eph. 5:11; Rev. 18:4.

2. Christ. 1 Cor. 1:9; Phil. 3:10.

3. One another. 1 Jno. 1:3-7.

D. WorkmanSHIP.

That it:

1. Brings no shame. 2 Tim. 2:15.

2. Is profitable. 1 Tim. 4:8; Titus 3:8.

3. Is faithful. 3 Jno. 5.

E. StewardSHIP.

What kind?

1. Good. 1 Pet. 4:10.

2. Just. Lk. 16:1-13.

3. Faithful. 1 Cor. 4:2.

F. FriendSHIP.

With whom?

1. Not the world. Jas. 4:4.

2. With God and Christ. Jno. 15:14; Jas. 2:23.

3. With Christians. 3 Jno. 14.

G. HardSHIP.

Suffer:

1. With the gospel. 2 Tim. 1:8.

2. As good soldiers. 2 Tim. 2:3.

3. As Paul. 2 Tim. 2:9; 4:5,6.

H. LeaderSHIP.

We should:

1. Recognize it. Heb. 13:17.

2. Prepare for it. 1 Tim. 3:1; Heb. 5:12; 2 Tim. 2:15.

3. Be exemplary. 1 Tim. 3:7; 1 Pet. 5:1-3.

CONCLUSION:

What type of fleet are you sailing?

Will they measure up to the ships that we have just discussed?
